PRIVACY POLICY

Chihuahua City • ChihuahuaCity.store

Effective Date: Wed July 8, 2026
Last Updated: Thurs July 9, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Getchman Klovas Enterprises, LLC, doing business as Chihuahua City (“Chihuahua City,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit ChihuahuaCity.store, including any subdomains, and any related content, tools, quizzes, newsletters, promotions, or text-message programs we operate (collectively, the “Site”).

Chihuahua City is a content and affiliate-marketing website. We publish product recommendations, buying guides, and educational content for Chihuahua owners, and we earn commissions when visitors click links on the Site and make purchases from third-party retailers and brands. We do not sell products directly, we do not operate a checkout, and we never collect or process payment card information. All purchases are completed on third-party websites under those parties’ own terms and privacy policies.

By accessing or using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Site.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Contact information — your email address when you subscribe to our newsletter, download a guide, or submit a form; your name if you choose to provide it.

  • Phone number — your mobile number if you opt in to our SMS/text-message program.

  • Quiz and preference data — answers you submit through interactive tools on the Site (for example, our product-finder quiz), such as your dog’s age range, approximate weight, and product needs or interests.

  • Promotions and surveys — information you submit if you enter a sweepstakes, contest, or giveaway we run, or respond to a survey. Promotions may be subject to supplemental official rules provided at the time of entry.

  • Communications — the contents of messages you send us through contact forms, email, chat, or social media.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device and browser data — IP address, device type, operating system, browser type and version, screen dimensions, and language settings.

  • Usage data — pages viewed, links clicked (including affiliate links), time on page, scroll depth, referral source, search terms that brought you to the Site, and the dates and times of visits.

  • Approximate location — coarse, city- or region-level location inferred from your IP address. We do not collect precise GPS location.

  • Session analytics — anonymized interaction recordings and heat-map data (mouse movement, clicks, scrolling) collected through analytics tools identified in Section 8.

  • Cookie and identifier data — cookie IDs, click IDs, pixel data, and similar online identifiers described in Sections 3, 4, and 5.

2.3 Information From Third Parties

  • Affiliate networks and retail partners provide us with reporting about clicks originating from the Site and resulting transactions — for example, click identifiers, order values, items or item categories purchased, and commission amounts. This reporting is tied to pseudonymous click IDs rather than to your name or contact details, and we do not use it to build a profile of your individual purchases.

  • Email and SMS platform providers supply engagement data (deliveries, opens, clicks, unsubscribes) tied to your subscription record.

  • Social media platforms provide aggregate audience statistics when you interact with our pages or content on those platforms.

2.4 Categories of Sources

We collect personal information from the following categories of sources: you (directly); your device (automatically); our service providers; affiliate networks and retail partners; and social media platforms.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information as defined by applicable law (such as government identifiers, financial account credentials, health records, biometric data, or precise geolocation), and we ask that you do not submit it to us.

3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We and our third-party partners use cookies, pixels, tags, web beacons, software development kits, local storage, and similar technologies (collectively, “cookies”) on the Site and in our emails. We use the following categories:

  • Strictly necessary cookies — required for the Site to function (security, load balancing, consent preferences). These cannot be switched off.

  • Analytics and performance cookies — help us understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve content and layout.

  • Functional cookies — remember your preferences, such as quiz progress or region.

  • Affiliate attribution cookies — set when you click an affiliate link so that the destination retailer or its network can attribute any resulting purchase to Chihuahua City (Section 4).

  • Advertising cookies and pixels — used for interest-based advertising and retargeting as described in Section 5. These may be considered a “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising” under certain U.S. state privacy laws.

On your first visit, a consent banner allows you to accept or reject non-essential cookies. You can change your preferences at any time through the cookie-settings link in the Site footer and through your browser controls. Blocking some cookie categories may affect Site functionality. Additional detail appears in our separate Cookie Policy, which is incorporated into this Privacy Policy by reference.

4. Affiliate Programs and Third-Party Tracking

Chihuahua City participates in affiliate advertising programs. When you click an affiliate link on the Site, you are redirected to the retailer’s or brand’s website, and the retailer or its affiliate network places one or more cookies or similar identifiers on your device to record that the visit originated from Chihuahua City. If you later make a qualifying purchase within that program’s attribution window, we earn a commission. The information processed for attribution (such as click ID, timestamp, referring page, device identifiers, and order value) is collected and controlled by the retailer or network under its own privacy policy, not by us. As described in Section 2.3, networks and partners return conversion reporting to us tied to pseudonymous click identifiers.

Chihuahua City is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. We also participate in the eBay Partner Network.

In addition, we participate in affiliate programs operated through third-party affiliate networks, including, without limitation: Impact, CJ Affiliate, ShareASale, Rakuten Advertising, Partnerize, AvantLink, FlexOffers, ClickBank, Skimlinks, Mavely, and Refersion. Through these networks and through direct programs, we maintain affiliate relationships with retailers and brands including, by way of example and without limitation: Chewy, Walmart, Petco, PetSmart, Target, 1-800-PetMeds, Ollie, The Farmer’s Dog, Nom Nom, BARK, Best Bully Sticks, Pupford, Zesty Paws, Honest Paws, Native Pet, PetLab Co, Vetster, Gooby, Frenchiestore, Canada Pooch, Voyagers K9 Apparel, Sleepypod, K&H Pet Products, Diggs, Snoozer, Tractive, Furbo, Fi, FitBark, Embark, Lemonade, Pumpkin, Fetch, Spot, Trupanion, SpiritDog Training, and Brain Training for Dogs. The current list of our affiliate partners is maintained on our Affiliate Disclosure page at [URL].

We use an affiliate link-management service to organize, shorten, and route our outbound links. That service may momentarily process your request — including IP address and coarse geographic region — in order to direct you to the correct regional storefront (for example, Amazon.com versus Amazon.ca) and to count clicks. Link-management providers we use are identified in Section 8.

Once you leave the Site by clicking any outbound link, this Privacy Policy no longer applies. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of every website you visit, including our retail partners’ sites, before making a purchase or submitting personal information.

5. Interest-Based Advertising, Retargeting Pixels, and Matched Audiences

We may use third-party advertising platforms to promote Chihuahua City content and deals to people who have visited the Site or subscribed to our communications. When active, these technologies operate as follows:

  • Advertising pixels and tags. We may place platform tags on the Site — such as the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel, the Pinterest Tag, the TikTok Pixel, and Google Ads remarketing tags — that collect device identifiers, cookie IDs, and information about the pages you view so the platform can show you our advertising later and measure its performance. These platforms may combine this data with information they hold about you under their own privacy policies, and their collection may occur across different websites, browsers, and devices over time.

  • Matched (custom) audiences. We may share hashed (cryptographically obscured) email addresses from our subscriber list with advertising platforms solely to create matched audiences — so the platform can show our ads to our existing subscribers or to “lookalike” audiences — or to exclude subscribers from certain campaigns. Platforms are contractually restricted from using these hashed lists for their own independent purposes.

  • Email web beacons. Emails we send contain a small pixel that tells us when a message is opened and which links are clicked. You can disable this by turning images off in your email application.

Your choices: reject “Advertising” cookies in our consent banner; opt out of interest-based advertising by companies participating in industry self-regulatory programs at www.aboutads.info/choices (Digital Advertising Alliance) and optout.networkadvertising.org (Network Advertising Initiative), and on mobile through the DAA’s AppChoices application; use the ad-preference and privacy controls offered inside your Meta, Pinterest, TikTok, and Google accounts; and enable the Global Privacy Control (Section 12). Please note that these opt-outs are specific to each browser and device, and must be renewed if you clear cookies, switch browsers, or reset your device’s advertising identifier. Opting out does not eliminate advertising; it makes the advertising you see less tailored to you.

Disclosures of online identifiers, internet-activity data, and inferences to advertising platforms through these pixels may constitute a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, or “targeted advertising,” under certain U.S. state privacy laws. Section 12 describes your opt-out rights, which we honor.

6. How We Use Personal Information

  • To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site and its content.

  • To send you the newsletters, deal alerts, guides, and other communications you request, and to deliver lead magnets you download.

  • To personalize content and product recommendations — for example, tailoring email content based on quiz answers or the content categories you engage with (such as puppy care, senior-dog care, apparel, training, tech, or insurance).

  • To operate our SMS program for subscribers who opt in (Section 7).

  • To administer sweepstakes, contests, and surveys, and to award and deliver prizes.

  • To advertise Chihuahua City on third-party platforms, including retargeting and matched audiences as described in Section 5.

  • To measure Site performance, understand aggregate visitor behavior, test layouts, and fix errors.

  • To track affiliate referrals and reconcile commission reporting from our networks and partners.

  • To comply with legal obligations, enforce our Terms of Use, prevent fraud and abuse, and protect the rights, property, and safety of Chihuahua City, our users, and the public.

We do not use personal information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not knowingly process sensitive personal information.

7. Email and Text-Message Communications

7.1 Email

If you subscribe, we will send you editorial and promotional email, which may include affiliate links and sponsored placements. Our email platform records deliveries, opens, clicks, and unsubscribes — including through the web-beacon pixel described in Section 5 — and applies interest-based tags derived from your interactions (for example, engagement with food, apparel, training, technology, or insurance content) so that we can send more relevant messages. Every marketing email contains an unsubscribe link; opting out is processed promptly and without charge. We may still send you non-promotional, transactional messages where permitted by law (for example, confirming a request you made).

7.2 SMS / Text Messages

Our SMS program is strictly opt-in. When you opt in, you should expect to receive a maximum of ten (10) SMS messages from us per month, providing updates, information, and promotional content related to our services. Message and data rates may apply, message frequency may vary within that cap, and carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP, and you can reply HELP for assistance. We record the date, time, and source of your opt-in and opt-out for compliance purposes. Mobile opt-in data and consent status are not shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes; consent you give applies to Chihuahua City only.

8. How We Disclose Personal Information

We do not sell personal information for money. We disclose personal information only as follows:

  • Service providers / processors. Companies that host and support the Site and our operations under contract, currently including: Wix.com Ltd. (website hosting, content management, forms, and CRM); Intuit Mailchimp (email and marketing automation); our SMS delivery provider [●]; Make.com (workflow automation); Google LLC (Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Google Workspace); Microsoft Corporation (Microsoft Clarity session analytics); our affiliate link-management provider (Lasso and/or Geniuslink); and our consent-management provider (Termly). These providers may access personal information only to perform services for us and are contractually restricted from using it for their own purposes, except as permitted for limited security and improvement uses under their agreements.

  • Affiliate networks and retail partners. As described in Section 4, attribution data associated with your click (such as click IDs and device identifiers) is transmitted to and collected by the applicable network or retailer through cookies when you click an outbound affiliate link. We do not transmit your name, email address, or phone number to affiliate networks or retailers.

  • Advertising platforms. When our retargeting program is active, online identifiers, internet-activity data, inferences, and hashed email addresses are disclosed to advertising platforms (such as Meta, Pinterest, TikTok, and Google) as described in Section 5.

  • Social media plug-ins. The Site may include social sharing buttons and embedded content (for example, Pinterest save buttons or Instagram embeds). These features can collect your IP address and the page you are visiting and may set a cookie, operated under the providing platform’s own privacy policy.

  • Legal and safety. When we believe disclosure is required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or is reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or property, to investigate fraud, or to respond to a lawful government request.

  • Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our business, personal information may be transferred as a business asset, subject to reasonable confidentiality protections and, where required, notice to you.

  • Aggregated or de-identified data. We may use and share information that no longer reasonably identifies you (for example, aggregate traffic statistics) for any lawful purpose. We maintain de-identified data only in de-identified form and will not attempt to re-identify it.

9. Community and Public Features

If the Site offers comments, reviews, forums, or other community features, any information you post there — including your display name and the contents of your post — is public, may be read, collected, and used by anyone, and may remain visible after you stop using the Site. We are not responsible for information you choose to disclose publicly. To request removal of content you posted, contact us using Section 17; note that removal from the Site does not guarantee removal from search engines or third-party archives.

10. Your Choices

  • Cookies — accept, reject, or customize non-essential cookies through the consent banner or the cookie-settings link in the Site footer, and through your browser settings.

  • Email — use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.

  • SMS — reply STOP to any message to opt out; reply HELP for help.

  • Analytics — install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or reject analytics cookies via the consent banner.

  • Affiliate tracking — reject affiliate-attribution cookies via the consent banner; doing so may prevent retailers from attributing your purchase to Chihuahua City but does not affect your ability to buy.

  • Interest-based advertising — use the industry opt-out tools and platform controls described in Section 5, and the state-law opt-outs described in Section 12.

11. Notice of Financial Incentive

From time to time we offer benefits in exchange for joining our email or SMS lists — for example, a free downloadable guide (such as the “Chihuahua Care Starter Guide”), subscriber-only deal alerts, or entry into a giveaway. Under California law these offers may be considered a “financial incentive” because they are tied to the collection of personal information (your email address or phone number). We value the personal information collected at approximately the cost to us of providing the benefit; this good-faith estimate is based on the expense of producing the content or prize and the reasonable relationship between that expense and the data provided. Participation is entirely optional and requires your opt-in; you may withdraw at any time by unsubscribing from email or replying STOP to SMS, after which we will stop using your information for the program. Withdrawal does not affect benefits already delivered.

12. Privacy Rights — United States

Depending on your state of residence (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Montana, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and others with comprehensive privacy laws), you may have the right to: (a) confirm whether we process your personal information and access it, including in a portable format; (b) correct inaccurate personal information; (c) delete personal information, subject to legal exceptions; (d) opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, of targeted advertising, and of profiling in furtherance of significant decisions (which we do not perform); and (e) not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your rights.

How to exercise these rights: email us at [privacy@chihuahuacity.store] or submit a request through [request form URL]. You do not need an account to submit a request. We will verify your request by matching the information you provide against the personal information we hold (for example, confirming control of the email address or phone number on file) and may request additional information where reasonably necessary to verify your identity or understand the scope of your request. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You may designate an authorized agent to act on your behalf; we will require proof of authorization and may still verify your identity directly.

  • Right to appeal. If we decline to act on your request, residents of certain states (including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and Texas) may appeal our decision by replying to our response or emailing [privacy@chihuahuacity.store] with the subject line “Appeal.” We will respond to appeals within the period required by your state’s law, and if we deny your appeal, we will provide a method to contact your state Attorney General.

Opt-out of sale/sharing and targeted advertising: use the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in the Site footer or set your cookie preferences to reject advertising and affiliate cookies. We also honor opt-out preference signals, including the Global Privacy Control (GPC), as required by applicable law: when your browser transmits a valid GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of sale/sharing for that browser.

12.1 California Notice at Collection (CCPA/CPRA)

In the preceding 12 months, we have collected the categories of personal information listed below. We retain each category for the periods described in Section 14, and we do not collect or use sensitive personal information.

We have not “sold” personal information for money in the preceding 12 months. Disclosures of online identifiers, internet-activity data, and inferences to advertising platforms through cookies and pixels, described in Section 5, may constitute “sharing” (cross-context behavioral advertising) under the CPRA and a “sale” as broadly defined; California residents may opt out as described in this Section. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

  • “Shine the Light” (Cal. Civ. Code §1798.83). California residents may request, once per calendar year, information about personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for those parties’ own direct-marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct-marketing purposes. Requests may be sent to [privacy@chihuahuacity.store].

13. Privacy Rights — Canada

If you are located in Canada, we collect, use, and disclose personal information with your consent or as otherwise permitted by the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial laws. You may withdraw consent to marketing at any time, and you may request access to, or correction of, personal information we hold about you by contacting us as set out in Section 20; withdrawing consent for certain disclosures may limit the services we can provide. Our commercial electronic messages comply with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL): we send marketing email and SMS only with express consent, every message identifies us, and every message contains a functioning unsubscribe mechanism. Your information is processed and stored on servers located in the United States and may be accessible to U.S. authorities under U.S. law.

14. Visitors Outside the United States and Canada

The Site is operated from the United States and is directed to residents of the United States and Canada. If you access the Site from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or any other jurisdiction, you do so on your own initiative, you are responsible for compliance with local law, and you understand and agree that your information will be transferred to, processed, and stored in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction. We do not target or monitor individuals in the EEA or UK.

15. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy: subscriber records (email and SMS) for as long as your subscription is active and for [●] months after unsubscribe for suppression and compliance purposes; analytics data in identifiable form for no longer than [●] months; consent and opt-in/opt-out records for as long as required to demonstrate compliance; and correspondence for [●] years. When retention periods expire, we delete, de-identify, or aggregate the information. Where you exercise a deletion right, we may nevertheless retain limited information as permitted by law — for example, to maintain your opt-out or suppression status, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

16. Data Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including TLS encryption in transit, access controls, unique credentials with multi-factor authentication for administrative accounts, and reliance on established, SOC 2–audited service providers for hosting and data processing. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you and regulators as required by applicable law.

17. Children’s Privacy

The Site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at [privacy@chihuahuacity.store] and we will delete it.

18. Third-Party Websites and Services

The Site contains links to third-party websites, including retail partners, social media platforms, and embedded content. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and this Policy does not apply to information collected by them. Any information you provide on a third-party site — including account registration, payment details, and shipping addresses used to complete a purchase — is governed exclusively by that party’s privacy policy.

19. Do Not Track and Opt-Out Preference Signals

Some browsers transmit “Do Not Track” signals; because no common industry standard for DNT has been adopted, the Site does not respond to DNT signals. As described in Section 12, we do honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) as a valid opt-out of sale/sharing where required by applicable law.

20. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top indicates when it was most recently revised. Material changes will be announced by a prominent notice on the Site or, where appropriate, by email to subscribers, before they take effect. Your continued use of the Site after the effective date of a revised Policy constitutes acceptance of it.
